Living Your Sun Sign - Astrological Predictions for October 2011

Autumn has started with an invitation to pay close attention to the needs of your heart. Loving appreciation of family and friends is on the menu of the stars. Who would you be without them? Enjoy your chosen family of friends and the bonds you have created which might last a lifetime. Friendship and love are precious jewels to be admired and cared for. Tune in to your message from the stars:
Aries (March 21 to April 20)
You have the right to be passionate and loving. More balance and harmony will show up in your relationships and that is not boring. Bring your fire with you and romance your loved one with a generous gesture.
Taurus (April 21 to May 21)
Jupiter is still with you and asks the question: Where do you underestimate yourself? Aesthetic at your workplace is important and maybe a new coat of color in your office will lift your spirit into a new realm of creativity.
Gemini (May 22 to June 21)
Love affairs, fun, creativity and art are areas in which you can find new ways of self-expression. This is your time to shine and sparkle on the stage of life. Step into the light; enjoy the attention and applause.
Cancer (June 22 to July 22)
Deep commitment and trust is important to you. There might be challenges for you and uncomfortable truth to look at with Pluto opposing your sign. Unconscious material might surface and wounds need gentle tending. Consciousness is the key to inner growth.
Leo (July 23 to Aug 22)
Communication is your playing field this month. You will find the right words to connect and speak your truth with logic and elegance. Writing and speaking should come easy and carry your glow.
Virgo (Aug 23 to Sept 22)
Believe in yourself! Your ability to attend to details is the stuff which holds our world as we know it together. Take a deep breath, relax, balance yourself in your body, eat well, contribute, do your thing and you will be a happy camper.
Libra (Sept 23 to Oct 22)
Your soul needs beauty and love. You are a shining beacon for love and an example of how we can be of loving help to each other. This coming month you need to care for yourself first and make your own needs a priority.
Scorpio (Oct 23 to Nov 22)
You might find yourself more withdrawn and moody than usual. Be attentive to your tendency to tell your truth ruthlessly, which might be hurtful for the other.
Swimming in the ocean more often, the feeling of being carried by the waves will expand your consciousness to higher realms.
Sagittarius (Nov 23 to Dec 20)
You need to reach out to others with similar goals and visions. You cannot and should not do it all alone. It is good to formulate long term and short term plans. Clarity will help your dreams to come true.
Capricorn (Dec 21 to Jan 19)
You are learning hard lessons instigated by Pluto, the god of the underworld. Your sense of responsibility and willingness to put in the hard work will be a guiding light for others. Transformation and let go of unnecessary burdens is the goal.
Aquarius (Jan 20 to Feb 18)
Autonomy and freedom is important to you and you want to have fun and adventure. Traveling to widen your horizon might fit the bill and sharing the adventure with a friend or loved one will be the icing on the cake.
Pisces (Feb 19 to Mar 20)
In your heart you know how to love and be compassionate. But sometimes you might feel like losing yourself in the other. Learn to be a great friend first before you dive headfirst into your next relationship. Friendship might be the highest quality in the dance of love.

Pokemon Training - Not Unlike Horses

Welcome to the Pokemon Cafe! The Pokemon cafe is for those who, like me, know next to nothing about the world of Pokemon that our kids are so excited about. I myself am a mother of an 11-year-old boy who spends a great deal of his day thinking of Pokemon. These days he's especially crazy about Pokemon Black and White, including the Pokemon card game and also the new Pokemon Black and White Plushies (Pokemon stuffed toys that look like stuffed animals). Since Pokemon Black and White came out, I admit to caving in and buying him a large plush toy and two small plushies. No more! Today's topic is training- how it is done and the attitudes of the trainers. Practically speaking, there are the attitudes of trainers in the animated Pokemon storyline and the attitudes of gamers. It is the former I want to focus on; it's more interesting! Like any other animal/human relationship, the core of the Pokemon/trainer relationship is based on trust. Beyond that, there may be a great deal...

Behind the Scenes The Changing Role of Women in the Film and Music Industries

Behind the Scenes: The Changing Role of Women in the Film and Music Industries The film and music industries have historically been male-dominated fields, with women often relegated to roles in front of the camera or the microphone. However, significant shifts have occurred over recent years, with more women stepping into and excelling in key creative and leadership roles. This article delves into the evolving presence and influence of women in these industries, highlighting the challenges they face and the progress they've made. Breaking Barriers in Film In the film industry, women have traditionally been underrepresented, especially in roles such as directing, producing, cinematography, and other key behind-the-scenes positions. Recent years, however, have seen a promising shift. Initiatives and advocacy groups have emerged, focusing on gender equality and the inclusion of more women in these pivotal roles. Organizations like Women In Film and the Alliance of Women Directors ha...

Seance - The Daisey Mae Story

Monday 26th September - Preview of New Show. It is common for Theatre shows do run preview events and performances before the formal run of dates begins... It is common for comedians to try out material on a selected audience before going on tour... I would assume therefore that Magicians would do the same... For me this was the first time of running a dress rehearsal preview of a full two hour show in front of an invited audience and I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to do it! OK, the downside is having to cover the costs of hiring the venue BUT the pluses far outweigh these costs. It's almost impossible to rehearse a mentalism show without an audience, and despite the scripting, blocking, routining that needs to be done its not until there are real people watching what you do are you likely to get any sense of the 'effectiveness' of your show. Seance: The Daisey Mae story is a two hour show ending in a seance. I spent ages on a back story linking the...
